This new project is so fun and being able to interact with the kids chosen at NPJH has been awesome. About two weeks ago we went to the school during there lunch time and took them pizza and bread stick and ate lunch with them and hung out. We have also been able to go out and get there baskets started for their dream day. We are now going to online shop with them and get them some new clothes and a pair of new shoes because they both love to shop. We have learned so much about them in just these last few weeks of going to the school. After we shop with them and get everything ordered we will deliver their baskets to them, and hopefully be able to get two more kids before the end of the school year for this amazing project.

Our new project is going extremely well and we have been able to get our first basket filled and given to our first student. A few Saturdays ago as a group we went to the little girls upward game to watch her cheer and to physically give her her Dream Day basket! She loved it so much and was so exited about the Gymnastic Unlimited card we where able to get her. We now have a second child and he is in fourth grade. His basket is made with all of his favorite thing like legos, candy, stuffed animal etc. We have sent a request to the Indianapolis Zoo to hopefully get some tickets donated because he said his Dream Day would be to go to the zoo because he loves animals and the dolphins. Within the next few weeks we will be able to get him his basket. Our newest goal now though is to make sure we are reaching out to new schools. NPJH is our next school we feel as a group that not only will elementary kids benefit from this but so will middle school. We are working with the counselors now at NPJH to get an idea of what kids they feel would benefit and love to have a dream day!
New Project / BLOG #1
Our new project is called Dream Day, and our main goal is to provide a unique experience for the children that deserve a special day. The children inform us what they would like to do on their Dream Day, and our job is to help them achieve this dream. We have sent home two packets so far for the child to fill out about what are there favorite things and want they would want to do on there day. We have received one of the packets back and made the little girl that filled it out a basket full of some thing she loves. We have also reached out to Gymnastics unlimited and they are donating a ten time open gym pass to her since she loves to cheer and do gymnastics. This is just one of the many Dream Days we hope to fulfill for these special kids.

Finishing our boxes!
We finished our english ,language and math set of task cards in the middle of November and then changed our to create new sensory boxes. These are boxes filled with beans, rice and kinetic sand thing like that. We also put thing like measuring cups, molds for the sand and cars and little animal trinkets in them to spice them up. Mrs .Thomas at Sugar Creek says the kids love them and they are a great way for them to have a break throughout the day. We have finished with all our task boxes and sensory boxes for Mrs. Thomas and her class.
Shopping for Family!
As a class we got a family assigned to us from the Hope house in Greenfield. We all pitched in money to buy gifts for a dad and his 6 year old daughter. We went to many different places to shop like Kohls, Home depot, and Walmart. We also got them gift cards to restaurant like Chickfila, Montana Mikes etc. As a group we took a long day in class and all split up to go buy Christmas gifts for this family, even came back the next few days and wrapped all the gifts and will be sending them off to this this week for Christmas.

We have been hard at working making and finishing the English set of task cards and now have almost finished the math set. Each set has 3 levels and 16 cards each. We have filled 3 whole boxes now and the teachers at Sugar Creek are getting great use out of them. We have one more long class to finish cutting and doing the final touches on the math set. Next we will be working on more of sensory type items. Mrs. Thomas has been helping out so much and have aloud us so many supplies to keep this project going smooth. In the next few weeks we will switch and go full effect on the sensory boxes and focus on that for so me time.

Working Through September
This project has been going really well we have been going to Sugar Creek once a week on long days to work on our boxes. We have printed laminated and cut all of our papers out and have our whole first set of cards done. These cards include thing like grammar and language. We have worked side by side with Mrs Thomas to know her needs in the boxes and make them the best they can for her and her classroom. We plan to keep going to the school Once and week to complete more and more boxes that include different aspect such as math and matching.
What are they?
A task box is a box full of learning items such as, reading, writing, math, and even sensory boxes. These boxes are ways for kids to have alternative ways to learning other than pencil and paper. They are creative ways to learn and help kids feel more included in learning.

Why I chose this!I chose to make these boxes because i love doing things with kids. I work with kids a lot and i love them. I want to help kids to become the best they can be and making these boxes i believe helps them. Kids have a special place in my heart and i want to do everything in my power to help them. And I believe that these boxes are a way to do that.

Pitch Day/How its going
Our pitch day was very successful. We first started by brainstorming ideas about what we could make, resource wise, to start our project. We saved ideas on pintrest and reached out to the teacher we are working with, Mrs. Thomas, and she gave us a lot of feedback on what we could do to make her classroom better. My group started putting together our powerpoint full of our ideas and where got the money from. The grant we got was from Sean Armstrong from Inline Painting, he gave us $500. We got a lot of positive feedback from the administrates on our pitch day.
Our project is going very well, we have bought some thing for it and have gone to Sugar Creek to meet with the teacher. Now we are going to buy some stuff from online and get it shipped to us so we can start putting more and more boxes together for the students. We hope for this project to last the whole school year so that the kids will have new fun learning activities all year long.
